The a.k.a project
The A.K.A Project is a duet for a dancer in a motion capture suit, and a 3D model of a human body controlled by artificial intelligence, with a cube for a stage. The interaction between human - AI, inspiring each other and complementing each other, dancing together, is the defining encounter of our time. A human body set against an artificial intelligence capable of producing and linking all achievable movements. A quantum space of superposition, where all movements coexist at the same time, and only observation determines the choreography. Dance confronted with the totality of itself, and exposed to new ways of conceiving movement, created by AI.
The cube, the stage of the encounter, is at the same time a space of projections and perspectives, creating a space of distorted geometries and visual illusions that move the encounter through different dimensions of perception. The cube takes us one dimension beyond the circle that measured the anatomical proportions of the Vitruvian Man. The 3D cube, symbiotised with the digital, reformulates the measurements of the human by calculating its extended anatomical limits in conjunction with the machine. "It is the configuration of a cyborg version of the Vitruvian Man, re-measuring human movement, with a female body and an artificial intelligence.
